Welcome to Class!

I'm really looking forward to working with you in this class where you will have the opportunity to combine theory and technology in a practical, enriching way. We'll discuss findings from the field of neurocognition, learn theories to take advantage of this knowledge, and practice using the latest technology tools to support and enhance learning.

The best way to contact me is via email, which I check obsessively throughout the day and is my preferred form of communication in an online course: david@peakwriting.com. But don't hesitate to phone (U.S. 912-598-1592) if you need to.

Teaching Background
I've been a professional educator and writer all of my adult life. My first job out of graduate school (Doctor of Arts--Writing) was as an assistant professor of rhetoric at America's oldest remaining college for men, Hampden-Sydney College. After five years there, I landed at another small liberal arts school, Moravian College, where I served as an associate professor of English and journalism.

Editor
Then the magazine world called: I first served as a managing editor and then as executive editor at Rodale Press, a publishing company specializing in health and fitness titles. Combining education and professional editing, I also served as one of my publishing company's in-house editorial trainers and web developers.

It's All About You
Today, I've returned to education full time as a communications professor and multimedia producer at a state university system on the East Coast. Most of all, I am excited and honored to be with you. I not only admire your commitment to continuing your education; I believe strongly in your mission: to develop the knowledge and skills that will allow you to achieve your professional and personal goals.

See you online,
David Taylor
